Position: Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Pasadena, TX
Rice Brothers is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Pasadena, TX. You will lead electrical design and technical support on EPC projects for industrial and energy clients across the Gulf Coast.
In this role, you will guide power distribution design from early concept through construction and commissioning. You will work with project managers, other engineering disciplines, procurement, and field teams to deliver safe, code-compliant, and constructible electrical solutions.
This position is a strong fit for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring designers, and solving real-world challenges on complex industrial projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead electrical engineering design for medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
- Develop single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, panel schedules, and equipment specifications
- Perform and review short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies as required by project scope
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and construction teams during design and execution
- Review vendor drawings, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation for technical accuracy
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution
- Develop single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, panel schedules, and equipment specifications
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and standard industrial electrical design practices
- Experience preparing and reviewing electrical design packages for construction
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit for electrical documentation
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
